Description |
Amherst College invites nominations and applications for the position of Assistant/Associate Director of the Annual Fund in the Office of Development. Reporting to the Director of the Annual Fund, this individual will manage fundraising activities for a range of alumni classes. This involves implementing annual fund strategies for classes to reach dollar and participation goals, supporting an extraordinarily active volunteer class agent structure, and advancing leadership gifts efforts. The Assistant/Associate Director will also assume responsibility for other projects as assigned, including participation initiatives for young alumni, the phone-a-thon program and undergraduate giving. Travel responsibilities consist of soliciting leadership gift prospects and stewarding volunteers. The College receives approximately $10 million in Annual Fund support each year from alumni, parents, and friends and has a record 60+% alumni participation.
Amherst has taken a leadership role among highly selective liberal arts colleges and universities in successfully diversifying the racial, socio-economic, and geographic profile of its student body. The College now aims to enrich the diversity of its faculty, administration, and staff to ensure that full participation and inclusion become desired norms across the culture of the institution. Amherst aspires to become a learning community in which everyone, not just those individuals whom we identify with minority cultures or perspectives, is informed about and responsive to all aspects of diversity.
Interested candidates should submit a cover letter, resume, and the names and contact information of three professional references. A review of applications will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled.
