Description

Perform research and advanced development of LED systems/ components to develop novel and highly efficient LED lighting solutions with a high quality of light. The candidate will research, designs and develop novel and highly efficient LED lighting solutions with a high quality of light. He or she will work in a cross functional team, conceive and evaluate the feasibility of advanced concepts, and assist in bringing these concept into product development.

Requirements


- Recent MS or PhD graduate in Physics, Optics, EE or a related engineering field

- 0-5 years of experience

- In-depth understanding of LEDs or lasers as they are used in diverse applications

- Knowledge of Lighting (color mixing, color rendering, light and optics, visual perception)

- Solid user of optical design software (ASAP, LightTools, etc.), non-sequential ray-tracing.

- Knowledge of optical materials for LED lighting and efficient manufacture solutions

- entrepreneurial, can-do attitude, team player, fast-moving

Candidates are preferred with some of the following additional experiences: Hands-on experience with die bonding, reflow processes, wire bonding flip-chip bonding, for prototyping and experience with high-speed electronic packaging for manufacturing phosphors Experience with thermal design using Cosmos/ CosmosFloWorks and stress analysis for laser or LED packaging Mechanical design experience with SolidWorks Experience with reliability estimations
