As a Business Analyst in Personal Markets Claims you will monitor salvage auctions, analyze salvage trends, and determine state level strategies to secure an optimal recovery for each vehicle based on market value. You will provide analytical support within Claims by supporting investigations of business problems, gathering, compiling and analyzing data and preparing reports and recommendations. You will ensure accuracy and timeliness of assigned projects, prioritize and manages projects based on critical business needs.

Responsibilities:

* Managing Salvage Auctions. Optimal reserve price for each vehicle, prioritize inventory, bid setting and evaluation, re-listing strategies, maximizing our chance of recovery and establishing a scrap car channel.

* Supports Claims analytics team on gathering and presenting data for team or special projects, as needed

* Independently prepares financial and or operational reports and analysis; factoring in historical information and current internal and external trends as needed.

* Understands data sources, strengths and limitations and stays updated with data management initiatives in claims.

* Maintains periodic communication with the stakeholders to stay informed about claims process initiatives to identify trends proactively

* Meets with supervisor to discuss project status and present recommendations

* Conduct production-oriented activities by entering and extracting information from various applications and systems, manipulating data in spreadsheets; identifying and researching anomalies; and making corrections as needed.

* Use the information gathered to develop standard reports; may draw conclusions about trends, variances (against plan, year-over-year, etc.) and business performance; presents information and distributes reports.

* Assist others with conducting business research by gathering data, identifying options, performing cost-benefits analyses, and creating non-routine reports with detailed analyses and/or proposals to create or revise management policies, business processes and services provided to customers.


Requirements

Qualifications:

* Bachelor's Degree and three years relevant experience.

* Advanced analytical problem solving and research skills; effective communication skills for writing reports or proposals and making presentations; ability to work independently or as part of a group; advanced knowledge of the business practices and processes; proficiency with spreadsheets and database software.

* Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply standard policies, procedures and other established guidelines.

* Auto Damage Appraisal experience a plus, but not required.
